Lynbrook School District Holding Pre-K Lottery Next Month
The April 17 lottery, based on state funding, will determine the class size for the fall.
LYNBROOK, NY — The Lynbrook Union Free School School will offer full-day pre-kindergarten in the fall.
The district is holding a virtual lottery on April 17 at 10 a.m. to fill the classrooms.
They received enough state funding for approximately 156 youngsters to participate. An exact number is contingent upon passage of the state budget.

Pre-k is open to children residing in the district and who will turn 4 years old on or before Dec. 1. Eligible students must be born between Dec. 2, 2018 and Dec. 1, 2019.
The state-funded program follows the 180-day school calendar. It runs five days a week from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Transportation will not be provided by the district.
The Barry and Florence Friedberg Jewish Community Center (JCC) and Tiny Tykes Early Learning Center will be operating the UPK programs for Lynbrook. The JCC will operate the program at the Early Childhood Center at 1 Saperstein Plaza, while Tiny Tykes will run from 49 Blake Avenue.
Applications must be hand-delivered to the Administrative Building by April 4 at noon.
