Maleficent Movie Review!

"Let us tell an old story anew" the narrator begins as we soak up the beautiful 3D imagery on the larger than life screening of Maleficent. A beautiful array of colors and unique creatures of all shapes and sizes are brought to the screen as we are introduced to a young Maleficent, princess of the Moors.  She is the largest of all the fairies and at a very young age is deemed protector of the Moors which is always at odds with the corrupt human kingdom neighbors.

     A unlikely friendship develops between Maleficent and a human boy, Stefan, after he tries to steal a rock from the Moors.  Friendship blossoms into romance and on her sixteenth birthday Stefan bestows upon her a gift--true love's kiss. But the story goes south from there, for Maleficent that is.  Stefan's lust for power takes him further and further away from his innocence and Maleficent grows into her role as guardian of the Moors and the two grow apart.  The king of the human land tries to steal the Moors' and all the magic it holds, but in a completely kick-ass scene is defeated by Maleficent and the fairies.  The King on his deathbed says that whoever kills the fairy protector will ascend to the thrown. That's when Stefan comes back into play. They say the scariest thing is a woman scorned. Well they haven't seen anything yet. 

     Angelina Jolie plays the role of Maleficent like no other actress could. With her unique ability to not only wear the "costume" of the once wicked witch as if it were her own skin, and the range of emotions flawlessly played throughout the film, you were transported into her world with every movement and every word displayed by the acclaimed actress.....
