Malverne Egg Hunters Savor Second Chance
After rains postponed the Easter tradition, Malverne youngsters revel in chance to scoop up eggs.
While Malverne's first attempt to hold an egg hunt for its youngsters this year was a washout, but sunny skies this weekend gave local kids a second chance to enjoy this Easter tradition.
Two groups of children spent Saturday scooping up colorful, plastic eggs that were scattered around the gazebo in savoring popcorn and cotton candy, all courtesy of the Malverne Merchants and Professionals Association.
The kids event had a chance to hang out with some furry friends. A kind volunteer from the reprised her role as the Easter Bunny, clad in a white-haired costume and in the afternoon, she was joined by a real rabbit. Fluffy, the DaCosta family's pet, hopped around the grassy park on his leash and was a big hit with the local kids.
