Malverne High School Announces Its Valedictorian And Salutatorian

Meet the top two students of the class of 2018.

The Malverne School District is proud to announce 2017-18 Malverne High School’s valedictorian Roshni Shukla and salutatorian Angie Luna Menjivar.

A National Merit finalist, Shukla will lead the way to graduation in June 2018. The top-ranked senior, who is set to earn a Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation with Honors and Mastery in Science and Math, has participated in the Doshi STEM Institute, as well as Project Lead the Way and Advanced Placement courses. She plays an active role in the school’s Model UN, Community Service Club and Newspaper Club and is a member of the National Honor Society. In addition to excelling academically, she has been a member of the marching band and tennis team, and has volunteered as a book buddy at the local library since 2013. Her list of awards includes being named an AP Scholar with Honor and a Scholar-Athlete.

Menjivar will be graduating with a Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation with Honors and Mastery in Math. She has been on the school’s cheerleading team, Winter Guard and Color Guard and has been a member of the marching band, GIRLs Club, Community Service Club, robotics team and National Honor Society. Menjivar also participated in the Doshi STEM Institute and has continued to challenge herself with many Advanced Placement courses. She has served as a school leader in the district’s annual Relay for Life event and has been an annual participant in the New York State School Music Association Solo Evaluation Festival.
