Malverne, Lynbrook, and West Hempstead residents will head to the polls Tuesday to vote on the proposed 2015-16 school budget and elect school board candidates.

Lynbrook

The proposed budget of $79,373,791 is a 2.78 percent spending increase over the current year and includes a 1.68 percent hike in the school tax levy.

In addition to the proposed budget, incumbents Robert Paskoff and Sean Strife are challenged by Lesli Deninno, Renee Gaughran, and David Yaker for three open seats on the Board of Education.

Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Lynbrook High School, Lynbrook North and Lynbrook South Middle Schools.

Malverne

The proposed budget of $53,461,648 is a 1.82 percent spending increase over the current year and includes a 1.99 percent hike in the school tax levy.

In addition to the proposed budget, incumbents Josephine Bottitta and Jan Kasal are vying for one open seat on the Board of Education.

Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Herber Middle School.

West Hempstead

The proposed budget of $59,494,066 is a 3.95 percent spending increase over the current year and includes a 2.61 percent hike in the school tax levy.

In addition to the proposed budget, Caitlin Close, Andrea Shinsato, and Patricia Greaves are running unopposed for three open seats on the Board of Education.

Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at West Hempstead Middle School.
