Malverne Marching Band Places In State Competition

The Pride of Malverne received its highest score ever at the competition in Syracuse.

MALVERNE-WEST HEMPSTEAD-LYNBROOK, NY - From the Malverne Union Free School District:Malverne High School’s Pride of Malverne Marching Band competed in the New York State Field Band Conference at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse on Oct. 29.

Although the band received its highest ever score to date, it was still 0.90 points behind the first-place band. Malverne finished out the weekend receiving the eighth highest overall score out of the 52 competing bands and earning the designation of third place in the Small School I Division. Their show was called “Unto the Breach,” which is based on Shakespeare’s “Henry V.” The band is directed by Glen Johnson.
