Malverne Schools Host Annual MLK Event; Students To Perform
Two community members will receive a Humanitarian Award in the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King.

MALVERNE, NY — The Malverne Union Free School District is holding its annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. celebration.
The community is invited to the Thursday, Jan. 12 event at the Herber Middle School auditorium.
As part of the tradition honoring the civil rights pioneer, students will perform music, dance and poetry to pay tribute to the spirit of King's legacy.

In addition, the Humanitarian Award is given each year to people who've shown qualities and characteristics associated with King.
The year's honorees are Malverne High School principal Dr. Vincent Romano and community leader and Malverne High School Class of 2000 alumni "Coach" Tyrell Wilson.
