Malverne Students Raise Thousands For Ronald McDonald House
The students at Downing School raised more than $8,000 throughout the year.
From Syntax: Throughout the school year, members of Malverne’s Maurice W. Downing Primary School’s Student Council, along with the school’s Ronald McDonald Committee, have been raising funds for the Ronald McDonald House.
Part of the Downing Cares initiative to promote kids helping kids, the student council held fundraisers such as face painting, seasonal treat sales and a family fun night to assist in their fundraising efforts. As a result, the school was able to make their biggest donation ever to the organization. Student council and committee members including Mrs. Robles, Mrs. Smyth and Mrs. Correia, visited the Ronald McDonald House in June to present their check for $8,500 to the organization.
