Man Attacked And Robbed While Walking Nassau Street: Police
Police say the 62-year-old was attacked from behind and robbed by a 19-year-old.
WEST HEMPSTEAD, NY — A Roosevelt man was arrested Tuesday after police say he attacked and robbed another man on a street in West Hempstead early in the morning.
According to police, a 62-year-old man was walking in front of 30 Hempstead Turnpike when he was approached from behind by 19-year-old Rahmarv McNeil, of Washington Avenue. Police say McNeil grabbed the man by the neck and threw him to the ground. He then started to punch him several times, police said, and then stole the man's wallet. McNeil then fled, police said.
He was located in front of a home on Mead Street in Hempstead and arrested without incident.

McNeil was charged with second-degree robbery. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday.
