Man Robbed Nassau Subway Restaurant At Gunpoint

Police are searching for the man, who threatened two employees and emptied out the register.

Police are looking for a man who robbed a Subway sandwich shop in Franklin Square at gunpoint on Monday night.

According to police, a man entered the Subway at 679 Franklin Ave. at 8:10 p.m. armed with a small, dark handgun. A 35-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man were working at the restaurant at the time. The robber ordered the woman behind the counter and into the back of the restaurant, and then ordered the man to open the register.

The robber stole the cash from the register and fled north on foot. No one was injured.

The robber was a white man, about 40 years old, 6 foot, 2 inches tall with a regular build. He was wearing gloves, a black-brimmed hat and had a stocking over his face.

Police are asking anyone with information about this robbery to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous, and you could receive a cash reward if your information leads to an arrest.
