Man Throws Nassau Woman's Phone Off Overpass: PD

Nassau County police say he also shoved the woman and punched her side-view mirrors in a fit of road rage.

Nassau County police are looking for a man who they say attacked a woman's car and then threw her cell phone off a bridge during a road rage incident Thursday morning. According to police, a woman was driving south on Elmont Road at 7:45 a.m. when she got into an argument with the driver of another car. While they were both stopped in traffic on an overpass of the Southern State Parkway, the man got out of his car and began punching the side mirrors of the woman's car, police said.

Police said the woman got out of her car to take pictures of the damage. The man then shoved her, took her phone, and threw it off the overpass onto the Southern State Parkway, police said. The woman was not seriously injured. The suspect then fled south on Elmont Road.

Police said the man was driving a black BMW sedan. He is black, 5 feet 9 inches tall and has a medium build, police said. He was wearing a black hat, a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. He was driving a black BMW sedan.

Police asked anyone with information about the suspect to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All calls are anonymous.
