Mother And 2-Month-Old Child Attacked By Pit Bull

The dog bit the baby in the face before a nearby good Samaritan pulled it off and kept the two safe.

A mother and her infant son were attacked by a pit bull in Elmont Thursday morning, causing serious injuries to them both.

According to police, the 37-year-old woman was carrying her 2-month-old boy in an infant seat as she was walking on 117th Avenue at 11:55 a.m. The mother stopped at one of the homes on the block and knocked on the door. A 57-year-old woman answered, and two pit bulls ran out of the home.

One of the dogs bit the mother on the leg, and then big her son on the face and head, causing deep cuts and puncture wounds to the child.
