FRANKLIN SQUARE, NY — The man who robbed a Subway sandwich restaurant in Franklin Square at gunpoint Monday night matches the description for the suspect responsible for robbing the same location the previous week, police said.
A man walked into the restaurant at 679 Franklin Ave. around 8 p.m. Monday carrying a small, dark handgun, police said. The robber pointed the gun at a 35-year-old woman who was a customer, pushed her and ordered her to go to the back of the restaurant behind the counter, police said. The robber then ordered a 21-year-old worker to open the register, and he complied.
The robber made off with an undisclosed number of bills and ran northbound on foot. No one was hurt.
