A Hempstead man was arrested early Wednesday morning after police say he was caught following the robbery of a deli in West Hempstead.
Police say that witness called 911 just after 2 a.m. after they heard glass breaking at Espinoza Deli, located at 282 Hempstead Turnpike in West Hempstead. When officers arrived, they found that someone had thrown a large rock through the front glass door of the business, and then had stolen cash and merchandise.
