Nassau Man Had Illegal Fireworks Stockpiles: Police

Police say they found caches of illegal fireworks in his home and at a storage facility nearby.

A Lynbrook man was arrested on Monday night and charged with illegal possession of fireworks.

According to police, the Lynborok Police were called for a disturbance on Harvard Avenue at 9 p.m. While they were investigating, police say the officers found a large amount of fireworks in the home of Marc Solomon, 43. Solomon was placed under arrest.

Police say the investigation led them to a storage facility in Rockville Centre where they found another cache of fireworks. All of the fireworks were removed by the Arson and Bomb Squad and secured, police say.

Solomon is charged with two counts NYS-LAB 458 Licenses and Certificates and two counts of NYS-LAB 453 Storage of Explosives. He is scheduled to be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Tuesday.
