Nassau Music Tutor Sent Inappropriate Texts To Student: Police

Police say he sent the messages over the year he was tutoring the teenage boy.

A music tutor from Franklin Square sent inappropriate text messages to a teenage student, Nassau County police said on Tuesday.

According to police, Eric Mordhorst, 67, of Doris Avenue, was working as a music tutor for a year, during which time police say he sent inappropriate text messages to his 14-year-old male student.

Mordhorst was arrested at his home on Tuesday without incident.

He is charged with endangering the welfare of a child and was issued an appearance ticket, and is due back in First District Court in Hempstead on Nov. 15.

Police ask anyone who feels they may have been victimized by Mordhorst to contact the Fifth Squad at 516-573-6553. All callers will remain anonymous.
