Nassau Police Searching For Man Who Robbed Bank In Broad Daylight

Police say the man handed the teller a note demanding money, then fled when he got the cash. Do you know who he is?

A man robbed a bank in West Hempstead Tuesday morning, and Nassau County police are asking anyone with information to come forward.

According to police, the man entered the Roslyn Savings Bank at 50 Hempstead Turnpike at 9:15 a.m. He handed a teller a note demanding money, and the teller complied. The man then fled on foot south with the cash.

The robber was a black man in his 30s, about 6 feet, 3 inches tall, with a thin build and a dark complexion. He was wearing a black jacket and a hooded sweatshirt.

There were seven employees and two customers in the bank at the time of the robbery. No one was injured.

Police ask anyone with information about this robbery to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
