New Assistant Superintendent Hired In Lynbrook
Joel Press previously worked for the West Hempstead Union Free School District.
LYNBROOK, NY — With the appointment of Dr. Paul Lynch as the next Lynbrook superintendent of schools, the district began its search for Lynch's successor.
At the Board of Education's Wednesday night meeting, Joel Press was named assistant superintendent for finance, operations and information systems.
Press comes to Lynbrook from West Hempstead, where he served as assistant superintendent for business and operations since 2018 in the Union Free School District.

During his tenure, Press managed the district's $35 million bond projects and was responsible for the district's $71 million budget.
"I am excited to be joining the Lynbrook school district," Press said. "I look forward to working with my central office partners and the incredible business office team, while doing my part to continue the district’s long history of providing the best educational opportunities for all Lynbrook students."

Press also served as a board trustee and president of the Baldwin Union Free School District.
He earned a master's degree from LIU Post and a juris doctorate from Boston University School of Law.
Press officially starts his new position on July 1.
