New Educators Named In One Long Island School District
A veteran Long Island teacher and administrator is named principal at one Lynbrook school.
LYNBROOK, NY — A couple of educators have new roles in the Lynbrook Public School District.
Marianne Healy, the current interim principal at North Middle School, has officially been named the principal, effective July 1.
Healy, who has 16 years at Lynbrook, took over on an interim basis in January after serving as sixth-grade English teacher and teacher-in-charge at North Middle.

She also taught English at Wantagh Middle and Wantagh High School. Healy was a teacher at Our Lady of Peace in Lynbrook, Mineola High School and Junior High School 231 in Queens.
Lynbrook High School has a new assistant principal. Bryan Garcia has been named to the position, filling the void of Matthew Sarosy, who will the school's principal.

Garcia comes to Long Island after serving as vice principal at South Bronx Early College Academy Charter School. He also has experience as an ELA teacher and as a teacher integration specialist at Eastern Suffolk BOCES.
He is currently the manager for the Massapequa Cyclones 11U travel baseball team.
