New High School Baseball Field Unveiled

MALVERNE, NY — Opening day brings a new ball field to Malverne.

The Malverne Senior High School unveiled its new state-of-the-art baseball diamond.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony included speeches and a ceremonial first pitch on March 26.

The Malverne Mules christened the newly reconstructed complex by routing West Hempstead, 11-0.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Lorna Lewis praised the new facility.

"It’s exciting to have everybody here celebrating what Malverne is about," Lewis said. "This is what happens when we come together with purpose to do the work."

Hempstead Senior Councilwoman Dorothy Goosby, Assemblywoman Judy Griffin and Malverne Village Mayor Keith Corbett, who is running for Congress, were also in attendance.
