No. 88 — Have a Meal at The Lynbrook Diner
Check out this popular eatery on Sunrise Highway.
Patch's 13th installment in the "100 Things to Do in Lynbrook" is to have a meal at the .
The has been a part of our Lynbrook community since 1929, when it was founded. It was started for the people to give them a place where they could find good food, a warm atmosphere and friendly service, at an affordable price. Now, over eight decades later, the diner remains true to these words.
Being a longtime Lynbrook resident, this diner is a place I know very well. You can always count on the same servers and best service, as most of the staff have been working there over 20 years. I don’t think there is anyone who works here that hasn’t waited on my family at one time or another.

When my friends from high school all got together this past year, this is where we met. My children have been going to this diner with me since they both were babies and had to be in booster seats. Just about all of the staff know us, right down to knowing my husband’s favorite meal, which is the Chicken Souvlaki — the best.
The present owner, Nickolas Mavromihalis, is very passionate about the diner and providing the best service and food. He took time out of his day to sit with me and discuss his restaurant. Mr. Mavromihalis told me of the importance of always providing fresh foods and first-class service.

The diner supports the Lynbrook Little League, and pictures are displayed proudly on the wall for all to see. The diner has been family owned for 26 years with the support of Nick and George, who help Mr. Mavromihalis run his successful business.
Breakfast specials are offered from 6-11 a.m., Monday to Saturday; lunch specials from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday to Friday; early bird dinner specials are served from 3–8 p.m., Sunday to Thursday; and 3–7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, with late- night specials for those who like to party late and are looking for a snack before heading home.
Once upon a time, I was one of those who loved to go to the Lynbrook Diner for those late-night snacks after an evening of dancing. There is also a party room available to rent if you are looking for a place to host a special occasion.
Mr. Mavromihalis is a proud member of the Lynbrook Chamber of Commerce.
No matter what you are in the mood for, from pancakes, juicy burgers, baked clams, fresh summer salads, Italian specialties, roasts, yummy deserts to delicious steaks, there is definitely something on the menu for you. A special kids menu is also available at very reasonable prices.
Our is more than just a diner. As you can see, it is a place that will make you feel at home, with the promise of a good fresh-cooked meal and friendly service you can count on.
