NYPD Cop Who Died in Crash Was Father of 5 From Long Island
Officer Marc St. Arromand, a 14-year police veteran, died Thursday morning after losing control of his motorcycle on his way to work.
The off-duty NYPD officer who died in an early morning crash on the Belt Parkway Thursday was identified as Marc St. Arromand, a father of five from Elmont.
St. Arromand was on his way to work on the Belt Parkway in Queens at 5:30 a.m. when he lost control of his motorcycle, police officials said. The 42-year-old officer crashed into a metal guardrail, and was then hit by a 53-year-old man driving a Chevrolet Camaro. St. Arromand, who was wearing a helmet, was rushed to Franklin Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 6:30 a.m. Police haven't made any arrests, but are still investigating.
St. Arromand was a 14-year-veteran of the NYPD, and was a member of the Highway Patrol.

He leaves behind his wife, Cecilia, and their young children: 11-year-old Sa'Niyah, 9-year-old Cayla, 4-year-old Michael, 2-year-old Daniel and newborn Jason.
