Carter opened Our Town Grille in 2000 with his partner Richard Fisichello. The restaurant has become known for its cozy, 50s-style setting and homemade comfort food. In addition to its varied breakfast and lunch menus, which include freshly baked muffins, homemade corn-beef hash, soups and local butcher-ground burgers, there's an ice cream station featuring 14 flavors.

When asked why his eatery was a favorite among Patch readers, Carter said, "It's a down-home restaunt, everything is homemade, made from scratch.

And he adds, "I feel we give that little personal touch."
