Pedestrian Killed After Being Hit By Car In Nassau
Police say the man was crossing Atlantic Avenue Saturday evening when he was hit by a van. The driver stayed at the scene.
A Lynbrook man was hit by a car and killed Saturday evening as he was trying to cross Atlantic Avenue.
According to police, Donald Marasak, 71, was crossing Atlantic Avenue at 5:40 p.m. when he was struck by a 2007 Ford van being driven by a 48-year-old man. Marasak was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead by doctors.
The driver remained at the scene, and the van passed a brake check.
