Police ID Body Found Off Southern State Parkway In Nassau
Police say the skeletal remains were found this afternoon. The remains are of a man who has been missing for months, police say.

UPDATE, 8:45 P.M.: Police have identified the remains found near the Southern State Parkway as Steven Roque, 65, of Franklin Square.
The Nassau County Police Department had an open missing persons case for Roque, which police said led to a family member confirming his identity. His remains were found by a passerby on foot, who called police
Police say Roque's body appears to have been on the side of the road for approximately six months, and it appears he died of natural causes.

Police are still investigating, and an autopsy is planned.
ORIGINAL STORY: Police are investigating a human skeleton that was found off the Southern State Parkway Monday afternoon.

Just before 2:30 p.m. on Monday, State Police received a report of human remains on the Southern State Parkway, in a wooded area on the eastbound side of the road near Exit 15.
Police say that, as of this time, there is no signs of foul play.
