Police: Man Steals Car at Knifepoint, Crashes Car Minutes Later
The suspect stole the car in Valley Stream and ended up crashing into a Floral Park home on Sunday night, police said.

Authorities are looking for a man who carjacked a victim’s white 2014 Chevy Equinox at knifepoint and then crashed the vehicle minutes later in Floral Park on Sunday night, police said.
The male victim was in his parked car when an unknown man entered the passenger’s side of the vehicle at the corner of Rottkamp Street and Oliver Avenue in Valley Stream at 7:26 p.m., police said.
The two men, who were arguing, exited the vehicle and police said the suspect then pointed a knife at the victim, entered the victim’s car and drove away.

According to authorities, the vehicle was involved in an accident at a Floral Park home minutes later.
The car crashed into a fence and a detached garage of the home, located at 200 Floral Parkway, News 12 reports.

The vehicle was impounded for investigative processing. No injuries were reported.
The suspect was not apprehended by authorities. Police described the suspect as a black male, 40 to 45 years old, 5-foot-11-inches tall, 200 pounds, unkempt beard, possible dreadlocks and wearing a black hat and black jacket.
