POLL: What Do You Think of the Malverne, Lynbrook, and West Hempstead School Zone Cameras?

Since Nassau County rolled out their new school zone speed camera program this summer, it has been a hot topic of conversation among drivers.

Our area is home to five school zone cameras:

• Merrick Road near Lynbrook North Middle School
• Union Avenue near Lynbrook South Middle School
• Union Avenue near Lynbrook High School
• Ocean Avenue near Herber Middle School, Malverne
• Nassau Boulevard near West Hempstead High School

Some believe the cameras have been an effective, albeit expensive, way of curbing speeding in school zones across Nassau County.

Others believe it to be a money making scheme that does more harm than good for drivers navigating school zones.
