Since Nassau County rolled out their new school zone speed camera program this summer, it has been a hot topic of conversation among drivers.
Our area is home to five school zone cameras:
- Merrick Road near Lynbrook North Middle School
- Union Avenue near Lynbrook South Middle School
- Union Avenue near Lynbrook High School
- Ocean Avenue near Herber Middle School, Malverne
- Nassau Boulevard near West Hempstead High School
Some believe the cameras have been an effective, albeit expensive, way of curbing speeding in school zones across Nassau County.
