Popular Nassau Roller Rink Has Officially Closed Its Doors
Hot Skates in Lynbrook had been a community staple for nearly four decades. Now an auction is being held to sell the rink's equipment.

Hot Skates, the roller rink that has lived in Lynbrook for nearly 40 years, closed its doors for the last time on March 24.
It was announced last October that the rink was likely closing soon. The official news of the closure, however, was still a surprise to many. The Village of Lynbrook said at the time that a new company had purchased the building, and was likely planning to tear it down to build a self-storage facility.
"After 39 years Hot Skates has closed its doors. It saddens us, but the outreach from so many customers has been wonderful," the roller rink posted on Facebook. "Knowing their Hot Skates years represented a defining part of their lives is a badge of honor we will take with us."

The skating rink has been the site of multiple shoots for movies and television, and has also been the backdrop for photo shoots and celebrity pictorials. Drew Barrymore, Tina Fey, Kevin James and more have all shot at the location.
As part of the rink's closure, an auction is being held to sell of tons of pieces of equipment. Those who are interested in bidding to own a piece of Hot Skates can click here. Bidding opens at 9 a.m. on March 29 and closes at 11 a.m. on April 2.
