Registration Begins For Lynbrook Universal Pre-K Program
Classes are open to children residing in the school district who turn 4-years-old on or before December 1.
LYNBROOK, NY — The Lynbrook School District is moving forward with a universal pre-kindergarten program thanks to funding from New York state for the 2021-2022 school year.
The pre-k program is open to students who live within the school district and will turn 4-years-old on or before December 1.
Eligible students must be born between December 2, 2016 and December 1, 2017, the Lynbrook School District said in a news release.

It would follow a 180-day school calendar, running five days a week from 9 a.m to 2 p.m. Classes are expected to start on September 9. Transportation will not be provided by the district.
The board of education is expected to approve the Barry and Florence Friedberg Jewish Community Center in Oceanside to provide the full-day UPK program, the district said.

Space is limited to 48 seats at the JCC for the new school year. The district will hold a virtual lottery on August 13 at 11 a.m.
Applications, available on the district's website, must be hand-delivered to the administration building at 111 Atlantic Avenue. The deadline to apply is August 12 at 1:30 p.m.
