Registration Coming for New Malverne Pre-K Program

Families won't pay anything for the program, which focuses on language improvement, cognitive growth and social development.

The Malverne Union Free School District is announcing a Saturday morning program for preschool children with a focus on language improvement, cognitive growth and social development.

Instructed by certified elementary teachers, children who were 3 or 4 years of age by Dec. 1, 2016 and who are toilet trained are eligible to participate in the program. The program is free for interested Malverne School District residents and will be held at the Maurice W. Downing Primary School (55 Lindner Place) from 9 to 11 a.m. on Feb. 4 and 11; March 4, 11, 18 and 25; and April 1.

Registration for the program will take place in the main lobby of the Maurice W. Downing Primary School on Saturday, Jan. 21 and Saturday, Jan. 28, from 9 a.m to noon; and on Monday, Jan. 30 and Tuesday, Jan. 31, from 3:15 to 5:15 p.m.

In order to register, you must bring the following documents: driver’s license, mortgage papers/deed (lease agreement with notarized affidavit, if you rent), current utility bill, school tax receipt, updated immunization papers and the child’s original birth certificate.
