Students, Community Celebrate Juneteenth

The Malverne Union Free School District held the afternoon festivities on June 17.

MALVERNE, NY —It was a day filled with culture and a sense of community as the Malverne Union Free School District held a Juneteenth Jubilee.

The afternoon event took place on June 17 across the high school fields.

It started with a parade in front of St. Paul AME Church.

At the school, festivities included live performances from local students, vendors and food trucks.

The jubilee also featured representatives from the Pan Hellenic Council, covering all African American fraternities and sororities.
