Teen Drove Into Nassau Officer's Car, Fled Traffic Stop: Police
Police say an officer tried to pull the teen over, but he refused to stop.
ELMONT, NY — A 17-year-old was arrested Monday night after police say he fled from a traffic stop and deliberately drove into an officer's car, injuring him.
According to police, officers tried to pull over a car driven by a 17-year-old, whom police did not identify, at the corner of Keller Avenue and B Street at 1 p.m. The teen did not pull over and fled the officers, striking a parked car, which was pushed into a second parked car.
Police say that the officer pulled up behind the teen, who then put his car into reverse and intentionally drove into the officer's car. He then struck the parked car and the officer's car one more time before fleeing.

The teen was found a short time later at the corner of Terry Place ad Gavrin Boulevard in Franklin Square and was placed under arrest.
The officer suffered injuries to his neck and shoulders, and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The teen was charged with second-degree assault, third-degree criminal mischief, second-degree reckless endangerment, reckless driving, third-degree unlawful fleeing of a police officer in a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident with an injury. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday.
