The Mobil station on the corner of Hempstead Turnpike and Westminster Road in West Hempstead takes the prize for posting the best price for regular gasoline this week. You'll have to pump your own gas here, but you'll pay only $3.15 per gallon for regular.

The next lowest price was found at the station on Hempstead Avenue in West Hempstead, which charges $3.18 for regular, but only accepts cash.

The rest of the stations in Malverne and West Hempstead, are asking for $3.19 or higher for regular. These include the on Hempstead Avenue in Malverne ($3.19 for full-service cash or credit purchases), the Mobil on the corner of Nassau Boulevard and Hempstead Turnpike ($3.19 for self-service cash purchases), the Hess on Hempstead Turnpike, across from ($3.19 for cash or credit), OK Petroleum on the corner of Westminster Road and Hempstead Avenue ($3.19 for full-service cash purchases) and on Hempstead Avenue near Fischetti Nursery in West Hempstead ($3.19 for cash purchases).

The highest price for regular gas - $3.23 per gallon- was again found at the Gulf station on Nassau Boulevard across from .

If you're looking for plus or premium gas, the Getty station on Hempstead Avenue in Malverne, which is close to the Malverne-West Hempstead border, has the best deals. This full-service station charges $3.29 per gallon for plus and $3.39 for premium, regardless of whether you pay with cash or a credit card.

Vega and OK Petroleum in West Hempstead also offer these prices, but only honor them for cash customers. Those paying with a credit card will be charged more. At Vega, for example, the price will jump to $3.35 per gallon for plus and $3.45 for premium if you use your plastic.
