Vacant West Hempstead Corner Store: What Should Open Here? [Poll]
Tell us what you'd like to see open at this prime location on Hempstead Avenue.
There are many vacant storefronts around West Hempstead, buildings that continue to sit empty and fail to generate tax revenue for the community.
Among them is a prime piece of real estate on Hempstead Avenue, a corner store near Spruce Street that once served as a physical therapy office, but now bears a "For Rent" sign.
The owner is asking for $1,400 a month for the 3,510 sq. ft. space, which also has a full basement that can be rented for an additional fee. The realtor, One Step Realty, touts the store's high visibility, saying its suitable for an office for a realtor, accountant or insurance company.
