The Sweet Peace Gets Ready for Valentine's Day

If you're wondering where you can get something a little bit different than the traditional chocolate boxes for Valentine's Day, has you covered.

The Lynbrook bakery, located at 26a Atlantic Ave., will have an assortment of cupcakes available including rose cupcakes by the dozen ($20), love bug cupcakes, "bee mine" bumble-bee cupcakes and conversation heart cupcakes (all $1.25, each).

Owner Allison Shapiro expects things to get a little busy on Tuesday, especially since the store is not open on Monday's.

"The conversation heart cupcakes and the red velvet are always a big hit," Shapiro said. 

Shapiro is a 2008 graduate of the highly-regarded French Culinary Institute in New York City. The Sweet Peace The bake shop offers specialty cakes for any occasion, along with ready-made cakes, cupcakes, truffles, chocolates and other types of pastries. 

Customers who wish to place a Valentine's Day order such as a specialty cake should call the store - orders will be able to pick it up Tuesday at 10 a.m. when the store opens. There is a deposit of 50 percent required for orders, and everything that’s pre-ordered is ready before the door is unlocked, Shapiro said.
