Nassau Man, 19, Former HS Football Standout, ID'd In Deadly Crash
The 19-year-old, a former Roosevelt football standout, crashed into two vehicles early Tuesday.

LYNBROOK, NY — A 19-year-old Lynbrook man who played football for three seasons at Roosevelt High School has been identified as the victim who died in a multi-vehicle crash early Tuesday.
Nasir Reid was driving a 2009 BMW that struck a Nissan Pathfinder near Ocean Avenue and Peninsula Boulevard, police said. The BMW also collided with a Dodge Ram pick-up.
Three people in the other vehicles suffered minor injuries.

Reid played football for three seasons at Roosevelt High School, Newsday reported.
The defensive end and offensive right tackle standout was coached by Joe Vito, who called him a "grinder," he told Newsday.

"He was one of those guys that always played to the whistle.”
Vito said several colleges showed interest in Reid, including Western Connecticut.
