Village of Hempstead Mayor Receives 2015 Smart Growth Award
Village of Hempstead Mayor Wayne J. Hall Sr. Honored by Vision Long Island for Government Leadership
Village of Hempstead, N.Y. (June 29, 2015) – Village of Hempstead Mayor Wayne J. Hall Sr. recently received the Government Leadership Award from Vision Long Island at the 14th Annual Smart Growth Awards. This award honors both Mayor Wayne J. Hall Sr. for his leadership and the Village of Hempstead for its great strides as a community.
“I am extremely humbled by this recognition as it shows our village’s strong and growing position on Long Island,” said Mayor Wayne J. Hall Sr. “This award draws attention to the ongoing and future Village of Hempstead projects, including the My Brother’s Keeper program, public safety initiatives and infrastructure improvements.”
Vision Long Island’s Smart Growth Awards is a regional award honoring individuals and organizations that exhibit Smart Growth leadership in advancing projects, policies and initiatives specifically focused on issues including affordable housing, downtown revitalization and historic preservation. More than 800 community, business and government leaders attended the awards ceremony and applauded the Village of Hempstead’s many achievements.
