Voters Easily Approve West Hempstead School Budget, Incumbent Re-Elected to BOE
West Hempstead residents headed to the polls Tuesday.

West Hempstead residents approved a 2016-17 school budget on Tuesday.
The $59.1 million budget was approved by a margin of 870 to 544. The budget is a 0.59 percent spending decrease over the current year and it a 1.96 percent hike in the school tax levy.
Voters also elected incumbents Karen Brohm (with 1027 votes) and Rudolf Schindler (with 874 votes) to the West Hempstead Board of Education. Both were running unopposed.

Incumbent Patricia Greaves was also elected with 951 votes, beating out challenger Steven Feldman, with 399 votes.
