White Claw Caper Ends In Altercation At Franklin Square 7-11, Police Say

FRANKLIN SQUARE, NY. — Police are searching for a man in his 20s Friday morning after he was involved in an altercation while attempting to steal White Claw hard seltzers from a Franklin Square 7-11.

Nassau County police reported that the man entered the 7-11 at noon Wednesday, heading to the alcoholic beverage refrigerators and put three cans of White Claw in his pockets. As he walked toward the exit, police say an employee told him she was calling 911, at which point the man grabbed the phone from her hands. Police said an altercation ensued, in which a male employee attempted to help his coworker. The man forced his way out of the store and the altercation continued in the parking lot before the seltzer snatcher fled northbound on Franklin Avenue on foot, police said.

The male 7-11 employee was treated by a county police ambulance at the scene, police said. Friday morning, police said they were looking for the man. Police described him as light-skinned, standing 5-feet, 4-inches with a medium build, and encouraged anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact crime stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
