Woman Attacked Friend Over Social Media Post: Police

Police say she broke into her 18-year-old acquaintance's home, attacked her and then stole things from her pocketbook.

Nassau County police arrested an Elmont woman Tuesday morning after they said she attacked a teen for a post made on social media.

According to police, on Tuesday, Sept. 4, Niaomi Russell, 24, of Parkhurst Road, Elmont, went to a home on Parkhurst Road to confront someone she knew about a negative social media post. After a resident of the home wouldn't let her in, police say Russell went around the home and entered through an open window in the back. Once inside, police say Russell found the 18-year-old woman hiding in the bathroom. Russell forced her way in, police say, and began punching and kicking the woman, causing bruising and pain to her right shoulder.

After attacking the woman, police say Russell stole items from the woman's pocketbook, which was in another room, and then left the home.
