Woman Injected Herself With Heroin With Her 5-Year-Old Daughter in Car: Police
Nassau Police responded to a Walgreens parking lot Tuesday night after a witness dialed 911.
FRANKLIN SQUARE, NY – A 25-year-old woman was arrested after she was spotted injecting heroin into her arm inside her car while her 5-year-old daughter sat in the back seat in a Walgreens parking lot Tuesday night, Nassau Police said.
Heather Dajani, of Valley Stream, faces numerous charges after being arrested at about 7:20 p.m. in the parking lot located at 703 Franklin Ave. in Franklin Square.
According to police, a witness who walked by Dajani's car noticed that she was injecting a hypodermic needle into her arm.

The witness then called 911. Plainclothes officers responded to the parking lot, observed Dajani using the hypodermic needle and placed her into custody, police said.

A subsequent investigation at the scene revealed additional paraphernalia including an additional used hypodermic needle, a straw containing heroin, a glass pipe containing crack cocaine and a metal pipe containing marijuana, police said.
Dajani's daughter was released to the custody of her grandmother who responded to the scene, police said.
Dajani, who was transported to an area hospital for evaluation, is charged with three counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, possession of a hypodermic instrument, endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful possession of marijuana. She will be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead Wednesday.
