Young Girl Approached By Man After First Day Of School

Police say the man was driving a gold car with a blue stripe, and tried to get the girl's information.

Police are urging parents to be cautious after a young girl was approached after leaving school in Malverne yesterday.

The Lynbrook Police Department shared information with the Lynbrook School District about the incident. According to police, a seventh grade Malverne girl was walking home at 4:30 p.m. when she was approached by a man in a car. The man approached the girl and claimed to be a music producer. He asked to share the girl's Instagram account information.

Police say he was a Hispanic man, between 25 and 30 years old, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was driving a gold car with a blue horizontal stripe and a gold leather interior.
