MASSAPEQUA, NY — Water emergency crews scrambled for a rescue Tuesday night after a pair of men became stranded off the south shore, police said.
Nassau County police said they received a water emergency call at 8:27 p.m. Tuesday, specifically for a jet skier in distress near Little Goose Island. Nassau County Helicopter 6 and Marine 6 responded along with Town of Oyster Bay Constables, using a spotlight from the helicopter to locate the distressed jet ski, police said.
When the spotlight found the jet ski, it revealed two men on a Sea Doo that had run aground and become disabled, police said. The two men were not injured, and were taken to Treasure Island Marina along with the jet ski, police said.
