The ranking highlights the community’s high household income, relatively low unemployment, and strong overall quality of life, even as housing costs and commute times outpace national averages.    

• Jet Ski Rescue: 2 Men Stranded Off South Shore After Sea Doo Runs Aground, Police Say (patch.com) — A nighttime water rescue near Massapequa brought police helicopter and marine units to Little Goose Island after a distress call about a jet ski. Crews located two men whose Sea Doo had run aground and safely transported them and the craft to Treasure Island Marina without injuries.
