MASSAPEQUA, NY — An investigation is underway at the iconic South Shore spot All American Hamburger Drive-In on Monday, police said.
Nassau County police said they received a call at 4 a.m. on Aug. 17 about a possible burglary at the Massapequa eatery. Police did not provide any further details at the time.
Instead of customers, the Merrick Road establishment was surrounded by yellow police tape and police vehicles Monday morning.
Known for its burgers and fries at low prices, the restaurant first opened in 1963 and has become a longtime South Shore staple – especially in the summer.
The restaurant owners and managers could not be immediately reached for comment.
