Partnering with the Massapequa Farmingdale Men's Club, the Town of Oyster Bay will collect donations through November 15 at several nearby sites, supporting families who rely on these shelf-stable staples.
• Massapequa HS senior named National Merit Scholarship semifinalist (longislandpress.com) — A Massapequa High School senior, David "DJ" Moravec, has been named a National Merit Scholarship semifinalist, putting him in the running for prestigious awards next spring. • Gregg Sarra: Excitement building for Saturday's Garden City-Massapequa football clash (newsday.com) — Massapequa football fans are gearing up for Saturday's huge showdown with Garden City at Hofstra's Shuart Stadium, where one of New York's two longest win streaks will end. With Massapequa riding 25 straight wins and hosting at a neutral site to handle big crowds, officials are even watching the weather in case a storm forces schedule changes.
