• Scouting America Long Island names first CEO (libn.com) — A major Long Island scouting organization headquartered at Massapequa's Doucette Scout Leadership Center has appointed longtime leader Chris Coscia as its first CEO and scout executive. The newly unified Scouting America Long Island now oversees programs for more than 10,000 scouts and 5,000 volunteers, with Coscia focused on expanding youth opportunities and strengthening scouting across Massapequa and the wider region.
