MASSAPEQUA, NY — The Massapequa Chiefs celebrated Homecoming with a 33-0 victory over Oceanside on Saturday, as students and fans filled the stands with school spirit.
The weekend started with a parade through town with the board of education and administration, pep band, cheerleaders, kickline team, and more.
Students also created class banners inspired by friendship movies, including one group that chose a Sandlot theme.
The American Sign Language program signed the national anthem while senior Sophia Rose Alfieri sang it.
Students in the school's broadcasting program documented the festivities through photos, videos, and interviews.
During halftime, the cheerleading squad and Chiefettes, the school's kickline team, performed for the crowd.
