4-Foot Alligator Removed From Suffolk Home: SPCA

Yeah, not a good pet.

RONKONKOMA, NY – A 4-foot-long alligator was being kept as a pet at a Ronkonkoma home, Suffolk County SPCA officials said Monday.

The Suffolk County Police Department requested the assistance of the SPCA to remove the alligator from the property after police responded to the home on an unrelated matter last Friday.

The alligator's owner, who was not identified, was charged by DEC officers. The alligator will be transported to a licensed wildlife sanctuary out of state.
