MEDFORD, NY — A motorcyclist died in a Medford crash Saturday morning, police said.
According to Suffolk County police, the crash took place at 6:53 a.m. on Route 112 at Southaven Avenue.
Edison Aguilara, 20, of Patchogue, was operating a 2008 Honda motorcycle northbound on Route 112 when the motorcycle struck a southbound 2016 Toyota Matrix that was attempting to turn left at the intersection with Southaven Avenue, police said.
Aguilara was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The driver of the Toyota, a 44-year-old Medford woman, and a passenger in the vehicle were not injured, police said.
Both vehicles were impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Fifth Squad at 631-852-8552.
